Love presupposes a

loyalty & trust.

Assumes the others’ ability

     to return the affection,

a must.

Love is a nearness,

     a connection of souls.

It requires a dialogue

of honesty to grow &

take hold.

There are no walls,

     no separation in love.

Love comes from the

unceasing expanse of heaven above.

Love opens its heart to the

other and trusts

no harm to come.

Love knows where its

power and protection come from.

Love embraces the passions

     and cares of a friend.

Assumes the burden of

woe,  so the other

does not bend.

Love joins together

     under adversity.

It does not crumble at the

first attack of the enemy.

Love seeks the good

     in another’s heart.

Holds onto the Joy

     of which they are a part.

Love looks past the wrongs,

     the failings & the faults.

All anger, animosity and

     ambivalence halts.

Love’s motives are

     caring and pure.

It desires God’s best

     for the other to endure.

Love loves.
