Ya know how some days we just want
to be right and not just right, but right at the top of our lungs! Or is this
just me? I have this lovely lady God has put in my life and she reminds me,
mentors me, just by how she lives in God’s whispers. I have watched her, and
others, as they live IN the peace of God…as that is where ‘right’ resides. So,
it got me to thinking about this human need of volume to make our points, to
chime in, to proclaim our epiphany from the highest register!
Life does have a lot of it…volume,
that is. So much is vying for our attentions, pushing the entrance of our souls
and then allowing all kinds of commotion in the door!
The difference was stark
today. Errands, cloths to wash, more errands, floor to clean, phone calls,
emails, deliveries…all before 10 in the morning! And then I stepped outside in
the afternoon. The first step out the door seemed to require an extra push to
get thru to the peace of the other side.
We forget that there is a world
battling it out for our soul’s attention…the pushing and prying of our
priorities, all with the goal of distancing us from Peace, God’s Peace ~ His
whispers.
This isn’t something that needs a special occasion to happen, it is
an everyday deal. If evil can get distraction to take hold in the everyday,
then we are an easy target for the no-so—wonderful occasions in life.
The Whisper today was amazing. Sweet
songs of cardinals, chirps of warblers and the breeze thru the bamboo. I guess,
I hope, that I will never tire of God’s limitless vocabulary of whispering! He speaks
to each of us, ya know. He knows our hearts, He did make them, after all, and His
whispers have just the perfect place to abide. Our hearts know His voice
already….
He has formed every human heart, breathing life into
every human spirit; He knows the deeds of each person, inside and out.
Psalm 33:15 ~ The Voice Version
And so, I’m going to try again to
pay attention to the volume…mine, and that which comes at me. He gave us breath,
He knows our volumes and they do have a purpose ~ I am thankful today that He
reminds us still of His purpose in our volume.
Hallelujah!
Praise God in His holy house of worship,
praise Him under the open skies;
Praise Him for His acts of power,
praise Him for His magnificent greatness;
Praise with a blast on the trumpet,
praise by strumming soft strings;
Praise Him with castanets and dance,
praise Him with banjo and flute;
Praise Him with cymbals and a big bass drum,
praise Him with fiddles and mandolin.
Let every living, breathing creature praise God!
Hallelujah!
Praise God in His holy house of worship,

Praise Him for His acts of power,
praise Him for His magnificent greatness;
Praise with a blast on the trumpet,

Psalm 150:1-6
I was just thinking how the VOLUME of this world has more often than not made me hard of hearing and unable to hear the whispers. I need to utilize my "hearing aid" of silence and solitude to regain my ability to hear the whispers. Thank you. Ann
